Born in Los Gatos, California, Jordan River has been in entertainment since he was a child. "I started at age 8 with the San Jose Children's Musical Theater. I had roles in Oliver, Tom Sawyer, Bye Bye Birdie, Fiddler on the Roof, and many others."
Public speaking and entertainment came naturally for Jordan. During his teenage years he picked up the guitar and loved it since Day One. "I have always loved the guitar. While everyone was surfing and playing sports, I was home practicing the guitar day and night."
Performing with a band on stage has always been one of my highlights. "I worked tirelessly writing and arranging music to be eventually performed live."
While at UC Berkeley, studying psychology, Jordan got involved with a local band. "We purchased all this great equipment, mic's, power amps, speakers, sound board, lights, etc. It was so much fun." Jordan River’s manager at the time had an idea. Use the equipment to DJ events. Within a few months they were the preferred DJ on campus. "I had found something that I was not only good at, yet enjoyed tremendously."
After graduating Jordan moved back to San Jose. " I called a few people in the entertainment business, let them know I perform at weddings and private functions. Soon I was going out every weekend."
And that's how it all began. Since then Jordan has entertained at over a thousand events in California. Jordan is respected by his peers in the DJ business and is well know at reception sites around the Bay Area.
Jordan is a volunteer for NACE, National Association for Catering Executives."This is a way to give back to my industry. Anyone who is a part of NACE understands the importance of working together as a team."
A good Disc Jockey and Emcee is worth his or her weight in gold. Although it's among the lowest cost budget items in planning, entertainment is one of the highest factors in any successful event.
"Looking toward the future, I want to bring other DJ's, Entertainers & Emcee’s to my level. We are a viable and important part of any event. By setting the standard I want to make sure all professionals around us have more respect for what we as entertainers do, and together create the perfect event."
