Abe and his group played at our wedding in 1989 and we loved him so much. Don't know if he's still playing at the St. Francis, but hope to hire him again for an anniversary or something. He is a dear and charming man, with heart and talent and sentiment. BRAVO.

I was a regular at the Rickshaw in San Francisco's Chinatown in the early 60's, while attending classes at Berkeley. Abe Battat was playing there and as a frustrated piano player,I loved his music and style. I am glad to know that he is still playing and will look for him when next in town.

I recently heard Abe sing a play a few songs with Jimmy Borges and Bruce Hamada in Waikiki. It was an awesome experience for my wife and I and our friends. If you have a chance to see him play, do it. You will not forget the experience. I am stilltrying to find a CD or MP3 of his music after the experience.
