The electrifying, soulful sounds of “Platinum
Status” will make your party go Platinum! Platinum
Status is the creation of veteran singer/songwriter, “The
Powerhouse of Soul,” Ms. Althea Battle and her right arm man Mr.Cooper. The dynamic duo have captivated many audiences with their smooth, harmonic
blends of: R&B, Top 40, Funk, Soul, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Rock-N-Roll, and
more.
Originally casted in Club Fugazi’s Beach Blanket Babylon, Althea Battle
is no stranger to the stage. Other stage appearance include opening for Chico
Debarge featuring Switch, Toni Tone Tony, Digital Underground and comedian Lunelle,
among others. Other noteable credits include a performance for Oakland Mayor
Ron Dellums’ 2006 Champaign. Mr. O Cooper, formerly of “Otis and
Shugg,” recorded with artists including E-40, Too Short and Tony Toni
Tone, among others. Together, this dynamic duo performed at the Dr. Martin Luther
King Festival with guest speaker Judge Hatchett - and recording credits include
the Golden State Warriors Theme Song “We Came To Play” with Lenny
Williams of Tower of Power.
Other veteran players include: Tim Landis (currently with Cecil Williams Glide
Memorial), Joel Kelly, Jimmie McKinney (currently with Lenny Williams), Vern
Hall (currently with Dewayne Wiggins), Thomas Thunderfoot, Mack Taylor (formally
with The Coasters), Andre Webb, and John Gibson. Professional sound reinforcement
is provided by Roberts Music Sound (RMS) engineered by Kevin Roberts. RMS is
fully-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, able to manage any size venue.
