Lauren Hill is an American recording artist, producer and actress. Early in her
career, she established herself as a member of the Fugees. In 1998, she launched
her solo career with the release of the successful and critically acclaimed album,
The Miseducation of Lauren Hill. The album earned Hill five Grammy Awards, including
Album of the Year and Best New Artist. In recent years, Lauren Hill has recorded songs
for soundtracks and mix tapes, as well as performing live at several music festivals.
In spring of 2011, Lauren Hill preformed at the Coachella Valley Music Festival
to a multitudinous crowd. She was nominated at the Grammy Awards 19 times, winning
8 times. As of 2011 Lauren Hill has won 300 awards, which includes the Grammy
Awards and three World best-selling Music Awards. Other awards include World Music
Awards, American Music Award, MTV Video Music Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Soul
Train Lady of Soul and WB Radio Music Awards.
