After a gig in 2005, Chris Young was encouraged by a fan to try out for the television
show Nashville Star. He made it on to the show and was declared the winner in
2006, which earned him a recording contract with RCA Records. Later that year
he released his debut single, “Drinkin Me Lonely” and went to number
42 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. In May of 2008, Chris Young released his
second album which included the song, “Voices” that peaked at number
37 on the Billboard charts. In October 2009, "Gettin' You Home" became
the first Number One single of his career. The album’s title track was released
as the second single in November of 2009 and in May 2010, it became Young’s
second Number One hit. "Voices" was released again in June 2010, and
since has become Young's third number one country hit. Young presented at the
44th Annual Country Music Awards in November 2010 and was nominated for Best Male
Country Vocal Performance at the 2010 Grammy nomination concert special. Check out our other Country Stars
