Almenrausch Schuhplattler has the distinction of being the only authentic Bayerischer Gebirgs-Trachten Erhaltungs Verein or Bavarian Mountain Costume Preservation Society in Northern California. They have 25 dancers plus a children's group in which they learn and share their customs. The club is dedicated in its efforts to preserve traditional Bavarian dancing, costumes, music and customs so that this heritage may be passed on from one generation to the next.
